When two friends got engaged, we joked about making a coloring book for their wedding. Fast forward a few months, and Carey (the bride) asked if I was serious about wanting to create one and if I would do it for them. I was thrilled to be able to help out with their wedding and immediately said yes.

She drafted up the outline of the story and sent me reference photos to use. This 16 page coloring book tells the story of how Carey and Doug met, fell in love, and moved to DC (and also got 2 cats!).

Each spread features text on the left page that Carey wrote in a rhyming children’s book style, paired with the coloring book illustration on the right.

The text and cover design were also created by me.

The last page had a blank space with a frame around it for guests to draw out what the future holds for Carey and Doug. They had a box at their reception where guests could tear out this perforated back sheet and leave it as a gift for the newly wedded pair.
